We are looking forward to narrative, non-fiction, diary entries and poetry based on the texts we are reading, our class visit and other inspirational topic work.

We will also be continuing to develop our 'Rainbow Grammar' knowledge and practise our handwriting.

In Maths, we will have skills lessons every week, using and applying our skills lessons and an arithmetic lesson!

Our Science topics will be 'DANGER Low Voltage!'

and 'Light Up Your World' - two closely linked topics to extend our knowledge and understanding of electricity and it's history and place in our world.

Through our topic work we will be aiming to answer our topic question...

The Industrial Revolution - A Dark Age or a Golden Age?

Our learning will focus on this era as a significant turning point in British History. We will learn about the changes that took place at this time, the similarities and differences in working life, places people lived, transport and school life.

As part of this theme we will be enjoying a visit to Southwell Workhouse to experience life in Victorian Britain (2nd March)

Art and D.T

In art, we are focusing on the work of the famous Victorian artist,

William Morris. We will be sketching and printing work inspired by his designs.

Our D.T. will have a textile focus. We will be learning to cross stitch; creating a William Morris inspired bookmark as an Easter gift!

Our Computing work will, as always, involves work around E-Safety and knowing how to stay safe online. We will also develop our emailing skills and continue our class 'blog'. Our skills in designing, and debugging programs will also be developed this term!

We will be using ICT in lots of other lessons to help our research and presentation of work.

Music and R.E

Alongside all of this topic work we will be continuing with our French and Music.

Please remember to have your full PE kit in school! The class with the most full school PE kits wins a certificate!

This term we will be focussing on gymnastics, athletics &  REAL P.E!
