We are looking forward to another exciting term - Spring Term 2018

Our Topic this term is:
Theme: "Who was the Greatest Explorer, Christopher Columbus or Neil Armstrong?"

We will be having a planetarium visit us on Thursday 1st March 2018.

Our Theme Day will be themed around Space.

Look what else we will be learning this Term:

Maths: Cool Count: 2, 5 and 10 times tables and related division facts.

Daily Bursts: Time, Money, Measurement, Geometry

The main part of our lessons will focus on Number, Place Value, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. We will be using a concrete, pictorial, abstract approach and will use a wide variety of representations and methods – this will help us to Master Maths!

English: We will be using the following focus books to write stories, descriptions, reports, letters and recounts: The Story of Christopher Columbus, The Way Back Home and Rainbow Fish. Our Rainbow Grammar work will focus on using simple and compound sentences and of course spelling!

Science: We will complete observations of seasonal change throughout the Year. Our main learning will focus on materials.

History: We will be learning about significant events and individuals from the past.

Geography: Although this term has a History focus we will continue our learning about continents and oceans

Computing: E-Safety, Stop Animation, Wider uses of information technology

Art: Artist focus – David Miller, and creating paper mache sea creatures.
