Theme: "Would you rather live in Bridlington or Rio?"
We will visiting Mansfield Museum and Pets at Home.
Our Theme Day will be bringing the seaside to Crescent.

Daily reads spring 2 : Where The Wild Things Are, Seaside Poems, The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, Lucy and Tom
Trip: A day at Mansfield Museum. Bridlington comes
to Crescent Primary in a seaside day!
Topic/ Themed Days:
Summer 1: Day 1 – Rio, diving into pictures and finding out about Rio.
Day 2 – What is it like to live in Rio? (Geography Focus)
Summer 2: Day 1 – Be an artist like Andy Goldsworthy
English: Fairy tales, persuasive writing about Rio, instructions making a Brazilian Headdress, school report, report linked to local history and a letter to our new teacher.
Maths: Cool Count – counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s and number fluency. Skills addition
and subtraction, multiplication and division, time, money, position and direction and revision
preparation for SATS.
Science: Seasonal change, Animals, growing up and taking care of ourselves.
Computing: E safety,
manipulating photographs/ images, creating and de-bugging simple programs.
PSHE: Whole school circle time focussing upon current issues & British Values.
Music: Singing Hymns
RE: Living in Harmony
PE: REAL PE and Athletics
P.E is on Tuesday and Thursday. Please remember to bring your P.E kit - shorts, T-shirt and pumps/trainers.
Remember to read every night and get your diary signed - you will earn a star stamp each time!
We read everyday in school so you will need your reading book and reading diary with you every day.
Also, have a go at reading a book using your BUG CLUB account!
KS1 school circle time focussing upon current issues.
Written homework will be given out on a FRIDAY and collected in the following FRIDAY so that it can be marked and new homework given. Please encourage and help your child to complete their homework. Regular READING at home and weekly SPELLINGS are also part of homework.
THANKYOU for your support, it really does make a HUGE difference to your child's learning. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT READING AND SPELLING ARE ALSO PART OF HOMEWORK.
We also have a Friday spelling/phonics quiz and it would be really helpful if you could support your child in practising their weekly spellings. Please make sure your child has their reading diary with them and practise spellings every day using look cover write check.
We are going to have an extremely busy and hard working term but I'm sure it will be lots of FUN!

SPELLINGS will be given out on Friday ready for a quiz the following Friday. How many star stamps can you earn by learning them?
Your child will continue to receive a free piece of fruit every day.
Children are also able to bring in 20p a day to spend on a healthy snack at the Tuck Shop, or you can send a healthy snack from home...no sweets, chocolate or crisps please.
Please read at home regularly... We give out lots of star stamps for reading at home!
