English: Our English work will be inspired by our geography based topic. We will learn more about grammar and putting effective sentences together, whilst writing some informative, non-fiction pieces, based around natural disasters. We will also be writing stories inspired by the film The Lighthouse and will create our own poems.

Maths: This term in maths, we will be consolidating our understanding of number and calculation methods, whilst learning more about measurement, time, statistics and shape.

ICT: In ICT, we will be using the internet to research our topic and will use multi modal programs

Science: The power of forces! We will be learning about the power of magnets and how forces affect objects. We will also be learning about the characteristics or vertebrates

Art/DT: In DT , we will be making our own volcano using different materials and will create our own volcanic eruption!

PSHE: During Circle Time, we will get together with children from lower key stage 2 to discuss issues in the news, as well as things that directly impact on us!

We will also begin our work on SRE

Geography: We will be finding out about volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and tornadoes and where they have occurred in the world.

PE: Our PE focus for this term is Squash and we will also practice our athletic skills ready for our sports day.

RE: Our religious education, will see us discovering more about Beliefs and Questions.

Homework

Homework and spellings are given out on a Friday. The children also need to read at home and they are given a star stamp for each time they read. If you have any concerns or questions to ask please come to see us and we will try to help.
