Our theme and thought provoking question for the Summer Term is:

Were there Woolly Mammoths in Mansfield?

Please find below a description of some of the things we will be thinking about this term.

English: Our English work in the first half term will be based around two texts linked to our topic of Stone Age to Iron Age. They are ‘Stone Age Boy’ and ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’ where we will be looking at writing narratives, recounts and instructions. We will then be looking at non fiction and writing reports on the information we have found out about the Stone Age

Maths: We will also be developing our understanding of multiplication and division strategies. We will continue with our times-tables focus Please encourage the use of Times Tables Rock Stars at home too. This term we will be learning about fractions and decimals and will move on to telling the time and using capacity and mass.

Science:  We will be covering two topics. How does your garden grow? We will be finding out about flowering plants and what they need to grow and survive  and Can you see me? Here we will be looking at what we need to be able to see and what makes shadows.

History: Our topic this term is history focused around Stone Age to Iron Age. We will be looking at cave men and how they lived, as well as learning how human life changed and developed until the Roman invasion in 43 AD.

Art:  We will be creating some cave style art and Stone Age jewellery.

PE: Dance  and gym and athletics.

Computing: Branching data bases and graphing

Music  :Reflect  Bring us together Disco Rewind and Replay Classical music
