End of Key Stage 2 Master of Technology
By the end of this key stage, children will develop an understanding of computer networks, including the internet, and how they can provide multiple services, such as the world wide web and understand the opportunities they offer for communication and collaboration. By the end of Key Stage 2 our technology masters will be ready for the challenge of Key Stage 3. When programming, our children use selection in physical computing - exploring conditions, designing and coding a project using physical devices. They solve problems using decomposition and use logical reasoning to detect and debug errors. Our children are confident when using spreadsheets and databases to organise, manipulate, present and evaluate data using this to answer questions. Their creative media skills will be enhanced by focusing on video production, webpage creation, 3D modeling and vector graphics. Our children will use technology safely and respectfully and recognise acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. They will be able to identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact making them responsible, digitally literate citizens.
