Impact

Our aim for our children is for our music curriculum to be fun and engaging for all and we create the future Masters of Music! We encourage our children to enjoy and value the skills they are being taught in each lesson, year on year. Asking the WHY behind their learning and not just the HOW encourages children to discuss and share their own thoughts, opinions and ideas, acknowledging and respecting that these may vary and that this is positive (linking to our Wonderful Words and Creating Connections curriculum drivers). The spiral learning approach provides each child the opportunity to engage with music of all styles and from all cultures so that they develop their own musical journey (linking to our ‘Creating Connections’ curriculum driver). The way pupils showcase, share, celebrate and publish their work will best show the impact of our curriculum. We also look for evidence through reviewing pupil’s knowledge and skills digitally through Seesaw, observing learning and pupil voice. A monitoring and triangulation timetable is in place to identify and rectify any issues that arise to ensure that the children receive the most effective provision. Children within EYFS are assessed and monitored using the expressive arts and design area of learning.
