Makaton Club
This year, Makaton Club have been working very hard to learn lots of different signs through songs and stories. Due to COVID restrictions, Makaton Club has been a year 6 club this year and has been a select group of five, run by Miss Hrycaj and Miss Allwood.
During the Autumn term, we worked very hard to learn the signs to lots of different Christmas songs, including Silent Night and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. We recorded ourselves signing and added them to TEAMs for the rest of school to enjoy.
It was tricky to continue with Makaton Club during the Spring Term as we were in lockdown (again!) so we concentrated on practicing the sign of the week.
During the Summer Term, we learned all the signs to The Very Hungry Caterpillar and recorded ourselves reciting the story. Originally, we had planned to send it to EYFS, but we were so proud of it, we sent it to all the staff in school to share we their classes. A video can be found of the Crescent Primary Community Hub.
